OpenAI Unleashes GPT-4 Turbo for Paid ChatGPT Users

OpenAI has rolled out the advanced GPT-4 Turbo, a significant upgrade available to its premium ChatGPT users. The news was broadcasted on X (formerly known as Twitter), highlighting that the large language model has undergone substantial improvements in areas such as mathematics, logical reasoning, coding, and writing. A noteworthy response to the initial announcement pointed out that “ChatGPT’s responses have become more concise, straightforward, and conversational.” In an interesting development, Microsoft integrated GPT-4 Turbo into its CoPilot AI chatbot and the image generator DALL-E 3 in December.

The unveiling of GPT-4 Turbo in November by OpenAI marked a major milestone, with significant improvements to the system that powers ChatGPT. OpenAI revealed that GPT-4 Turbo could handle six times more pages of text — a whopping 300 pages, a considerable increase from the previous limit of 50. Given the wealth of information provided, this expansion could pave the way for more complex prompts and responses. The large language model is also capable of generating captions or descriptions for image prompts and managing text-to-speech requests.

Since its initial announcement, GPT-4 Turbo has seen continuous advancements. OpenAI initially updated its world knowledge to April 2023, a significant advancement from GPT-4’s cutoff in September 2021. As of now, GPT-4 Turbo’s knowledge base extends up to December 2023, keeping it at the forefront of AI technology.
